Short Video on How Simple it is to Mix your Own Custom Paint

DIY Custom Paint Video

We are very proud of our line of products and have created an in‐depth description of how to mix them into your paints. Many people have expressed a little fear when it comes to handling powders in paint—but there’s nothing to be afraid of. Every paint company uses powders so they can charge more for custom paint! With our products, you can still use your favorite brands by simply mixing in our pearls, candies, metal flakes, or temperature-changing pigments. The following YouTube video demonstrates exactly how easy it is to mix your own custom paint. Keep in mind that the ratios of powder will vary depending on which of our products you use and how much pigment you desire. For Candy and Chameleon, start with 1 bag per mixed quart. Black base coats are more forgiving, whereas white or silver bases may need a bit more pigment to really pop. This quick video is a simple way to see how our products can transform your DIY custom paint projects. Determine your manufacturer’s mixing ratio—typically, for All Kandy Base Clear or other base clears, it’s almost always 50/50 with reducer/clear. Add reducer/clear, our product, and mix to create one sprayable quart. Note: When mixing Ghost Pearl, use only 1 teaspoon per quart (a little less over a black base), and for metal flake, use 1 heaping tablespoon per quart. -Matt We at Paint With Pearl appreciate all of our customers who send us pictures and feedback on our products.
